I had the pleasure of creating the textures for the character in the recent Unreal Engine 5 demo - "Lumen in the land of Nanite". I worked closely with a talented team of artists at Epic Games to bring her to life, including the Modeler, Lana Lan and Lookdev Artist, Pete Sumanaseni.
We see her explore this stunning and complex environment in real-time, running live on PlayStation 5. The demo showcases two new core technologies that will debut in UE5: Nanite virtualized micropolygon geometry, which frees artists to create as much geometric detail as the eye can see, and Lumen, a fully dynamic global illumination solution that immediately reacts to scene and light changes.
This was an incredible project to be a part of and a new and exciting experience for me as I have recently transitioned from Film/VFX to Real-time/Games.
